NEW MOVIES!  JUNE 9 - JUNE 15, 2009

BABY ON BOARD (dir: Brian Herzlinger, R) – TWIN PEAKS’ stars Heather Graham and Lara Flynn Boyle reunite in this lousy pregnant lady comedy.

THE BUTTERFLY TATTOO (dir: Phil Hawkins, Not Rated) – Young love and gang violence combine in an adaptation of a book by that guy who wrote THE GOLDEN COMPASS. It’s trying to sell itself to the TWILIGHT crowd, so if that’s you, sink your teeth into this one.

CROSSING OVER (dir: Wayne Kramer, R) – Hey, everybody! It’s the new Harrison Ford movie! Don’t know what it’s about, but it's got crime and illegal immigration and you know you’re gonna rent it when nothing else is in.
FIRED UP (dir: Will Gluck, Unrated) – Two meathead jocks have the brilliant of idea of going to cheer camp so they can make it with a bunch of cheerleaders. Sounds hilarious, right?

FOREVER STRONG (dir: Ryan Little, PG-13) – Samwise Gamgee in a new rugby movie! What is this, RUDY 2: SCRUM TIME?

FREEZER BURN: THE INVASION OF LAXDALE (dir: Grant Harvey, R) – Tom Green = funny & Crispin Glover = creepy. Together they are crunny! Warning: you might have to be Canadian to understand this movie.
*GRAN TORINO (dir: Clint Eastwood, R) – Clint Eastwood is a mean racist. I think everybody should boycott this movie.

THE INTERNATIONAL (dir: Tom Tykwer, R) – Clive Owen wears a nice suit and fires an uzi and grits his teeth in a really threatening way in this action spy thriller from the director of RUN LOLA RUN.

^NICOTINA (dir: Hugo Rodriguez, R) – This Tarantino/Guy Ritchie/GO-style crime caper from Mexico revolves around the notion that, sure, smoking kills, but there are lots of other stupid things you can do that will kill you quicker.
SPINNING INTO BUTTER (dir: Mark Brokaw, R) – S.J.P. (Sarah Jessica Parker) wants to be Michelle Pfeiffer so bad in this movie. But instead of a street school with bad kids, S.J.P. teaches her kids at a fancy college in New England. Some stuff happens with African Americans and she feels bad and wants to prove she’s not a racist. It would be a lot cooler if Coolio did the soundtrack.

STRIKE (dir: Tommy Reid, Not Rated) – Tara Reid in bowling movie number two! This movie wishes it was KINGPIN, but mostly Tara Reid is a drunken idiot who can only get cast in a movie when her brother is directing it.
